This is a project which I wrote for my Image Processing course during my M.Sc. at the University of Guelph. It explores whether false-colour imaging techniques can be improved using a few simple methods. The paper is available here, and the code and some simple examples are located here. Simply download, unzip to a directory, and execute run.bat. This code requires a Java run-time environment, available from Sun here.

To use the program, load two different images using the buttons at the top. Then take the difference of the images - whether the differences are absolute is controlled by whether the "Absolute" checkbox is selected. You can then select a false colour scheme using the menu, and apply it by using the "colourize" button. Finally, you can save the false colour image.
